Rock musician Ross Wilson is selling his Port Melbourne home, which he bought in 2018 for $1.681m. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house has been extended and renovated and carries a $2.4m to $2.6m price guide. The house goes to auction on November 7 at 1.30pm.
Cowes' Harmony Bells on Phillip Island remain silent, according to Bass Coast Shire Council, which says there are no plans to alter the installation or move the bells. Resident Darren Callesen questioned the decision at a recent council meeting, asking why the village's voice had been silenced and suggesting mallets be fitted or the bells relocated. Council CEO Greg Box responded on the council's behalf after consulting the artist, Dr Anton Hassell. The bells were stolen in 2021 but recovered by police before being shipped overseas.
Public tenants Gail and Laura Innes face eviction from their Albert Park home, which is leased privately by the Victorian government. A tribunal ruled an earlier eviction notice invalid in August, but a new notice takes effect on 25 November, three days before the state election. Homes Victoria says suitable alternative housing remains limited. The Innes family says they feel anxious and insecure while they wait for a permanent home. Homes Victoria says headleasing supplements its housing stock.

A vehicle mounted the kerb on Bay Street in Port Melbourne on Saturday, close to a group including Shadow Minister for Health Georgie Crozier and Liberal candidate for Albert Park Andrew Cook. The group was attending a community listening post, and no one was hurt. Police believe driver error may have caused the incident and say it was not intentional. The Coalition said the incident was separate from the serious events involving independent MP Helen Haines, who was struck by a 4WD outside her electoral office on Monday. There is no evidence the two incidents are linked.

Galea is now seeking sponsors to support the festival and the group's year-round programs.
Toyota Australia aims to sell a record 67,056 vehicles in the final quarter of 2026 to reach 220,000 sales for the year. The company expects to remain the country’s top-selling car brand for the 31st consecutive year, despite a 15.9 per cent year-on-year decline in sales. Toyota vice president of sales John Pappas said the company faces logistical challenges but has strong demand and order intake. The delayed introduction of the new RAV4 mid-size SUV and the new-generation HiLux ute impacted sales earlier in the year.
