AU NOW: BREAKING NEWS

Terms of Use

Version v7 / 6 October 2026

Version: v7

Published: 6 October 2026

Effective date: 6 October 2026

1. Who provides AU Now and what these terms cover

These Terms are an agreement between you and Varsha Raghav, the individual operator of AU Now. They cover the app, related services and community features. The Privacy Policy explains personal information handling; current Commenting Rules also apply to community participation.

By using AU Now, you agree to these Terms. Please use the service only if you agree.

2. Reading as a guest and community eligibility

You can read as a guest. To comment or use community features, use an account you control, confirm you are at least 13 and accept the current Commenting Rules. We do not collect or verify your birth date in this flow. AU Now is not directed to children under 13.

3. Accounts and security

Google Sign-In is the current account option. Please protect your device and account, use only authorised accounts and avoid impersonation. Contact support@californiawebgroup.com if access seems unauthorised.

You are responsible for account activity only to the extent allowed by law, excluding matters caused by our failure to use reasonable care or for which law makes us responsible. Sensitive actions may require fresh sign-in.

4. What AU Now provides

AU Now organises, summarises and links news and public information. Recommendations may use your preferences and activity. Features and content vary with location, providers and app versions. Unless stated otherwise, use is personal and non-commercial.

5. Acceptable use

Please use AU Now lawfully and respectfully. Do not:

  • publish unlawful, exploitative, hateful, abusive, threatening, deceptive or privacy-invasive content;
  • share another person's personal information without authority, especially information about children;
  • infringe copyright, trademarks, confidentiality or other rights;
  • impersonate others, send spam/scams or malicious code;
  • evade safety controls, bans or blocks, manipulate engagement or disrupt the service; or
  • scrape, copy or reverse engineer except where law permits, or use content for another commercial product without the relevant permission.

The Commenting Rules define prohibited behaviour and enforcement. For community use, the more protective safety rule applies where lawful.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of your submissions and confirm you have the necessary rights and permissions.

You grant AU Now a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit and display them only as reasonably needed for the feature and expected audience, technical copies, moderation, backups, evidence and legal needs. Sublicensing is limited to providers supporting those functions.

The licence ends on deletion from active systems, except copies reasonably retained for safety, legal, dispute, backup or audit purposes. Public content can be read or shared by others; please avoid confidential information.

7. Moderation, reports, blocks and appeals

We use automated checks and human review. Content may be allowed, obscured, held, removed or restored; accounts may be warned or restricted. Checks can make mistakes, and some checks run shortly after content is published.

You can report content/users, block accounts and appeal through https://support.californiawebgroup.com/support?category=commenting or support@californiawebgroup.com. Please identify the decision without unnecessarily repeating harmful content. Reports and evidence may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome.

8. News sources, ownership and external links

Publisher material remains owned by its rights holders. Displaying it does not transfer rights or imply endorsement. Respect attribution, copyright and publisher terms; do not bypass paywalls or copy substantial content without permission or a lawful basis.

External sites and services have their own availability, security, advertising and privacy practices, outside our control.

9. Publisher rights, corrections and source opt-out

Rights holders can contact https://support.californiawebgroup.com/publisher-rights or support@californiawebgroup.com with their identity, authority, concern and requested action. Include relevant URLs for article-specific requests; source-wide opt-out requests can identify the feed or domain.

We may verify authority, restrict or correct material, remove content or disable sources during review, and decline unsupported or fraudulent requests. Review actions are not admissions of liability or waivers. This process does not bind rights holders who have not accepted these Terms or limit either party's legal rights.

10. AI summaries, translations and recommendations

Some summaries, translations, categories and recommendations are AI-assisted and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Check the original publisher before relying on an important claim. These outputs do not replace the article or constitute an official publisher statement.

11. Local information and urgent situations

Local information, including weather, roads, school zones and emergency updates, may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Check current official sources, signs and conditions; do not rely solely on AU Now for safety or important decisions.

AU Now is not an emergency service or professional legal, financial, medical or investment advice. In an immediate Australian emergency, call 000.

12. Notifications

Notifications are optional. You can manage permission, alerts and available quiet hours in app/device settings. Delivery and timing are not guaranteed, so notifications should not be your sole source for emergencies or important deadlines.

13. Advertising and sponsored material

Ads are labelled separately from news. Available formats may change. AdMob advertising and UMP consent support are described in the Privacy Policy.

Advertisers are responsible for their offers and destinations. Advertising does not amount to AU Now's endorsement or guarantee of an offer, product or outcome. Please review third-party terms and avoid invalid clicks, impressions or misuse of advertising controls.

14. AU Now software and branding

AU Now's original software, design and branding are owned by Varsha Raghav or used under licence. We grant limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission for personal, non-commercial app use. Please do not use our branding to mislead others about ownership or endorsement.

15. Service changes and availability

We may change features or limit access for maintenance, safety, security or legal reasons. Availability, accuracy and continued inclusion of a source are not guaranteed beyond applicable legal rights. Section 17 preserves those rights.

16. Suspension, termination and deletion

We may reasonably restrict community access or accounts to enforce rules, protect people or comply with law. Where appropriate and lawful, we provide a reason and an appeal route.

You can stop using AU Now at any time. Guests can delete device data in Settings; signed-in deletion requires fresh Google reauthentication and confirmation. Access/public visibility ends immediately, followed by delayed identity detachment. Retained records and deletion limits are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Deletion assistance: https://support.californiawebgroup.com/account-deletion.

17. Consumer rights, disclaimers and liability

Nothing excludes or limits rights, guarantees, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law rights.

Where law permits, AU Now and third-party material are provided as available, without additional guarantees of availability, accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a purpose.

Where lawful, we are not responsible for loss caused solely by prohibited use, reliance despite a clear warning to check official/original sources, external providers beyond our reasonable control or events we could not reasonably prevent. This does not exclude our fraud, wilful misconduct, required due care or other non-excludable liability. No broad user indemnity is required.

18. Privacy

Please see https://support.californiawebgroup.com/legal/privacy for collection, use, sharing, retention and deletion. These Terms do not replace required privacy notices or consent.

19. Changes to these terms

We publish updated versions and effective dates, with additional notice for material changes or where law requires. Continued use indicates acceptance only where lawful. Updated Commenting Rules may require fresh acceptance before posting. You can stop using the service and use its deletion options.

20. General terms and governing law

Unenforceable provisions do not invalidate the rest, and delayed enforcement is not a waiver.

Indian law governs these Terms. Subject to mandatory rights to bring a claim elsewhere, courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India may hear disputes. Mandatory consumer, privacy and other rights where you live remain unaffected.
