A community petition is calling on the City of Stirling to introduce designated smoke and vape-free areas at Scarborough Beach. Organiser Bethany Taylor says visitors, including families, are exposed to second-hand smoke and vape aerosols there. She points to the City of Vincent, which has introduced similar zones in several suburbs. Supporters also raise concerns about cigarette butt litter harming waterways and wildlife. At the time of writing, the petition had 70 of its 100 target signatures.
