Police say they don't expect retaliation for Logan drive-by shooting

Police say they do not believe there will be a retaliatory attack after a drive-by shooting outside a pub south of Brisbane left four people injured. Two masked men opened fire on a crowd at a boxing night at Fitzys on Bryants Road at Loganholme on Saturday. A 19-year-old woman from Jimboomba is in a critical condition, while three men are stable after surgery. Chief Superintendent Mel Adams said the attack was not targeted but was not random, and police are asking the community for information. The hunt for the offenders continues.

Prizes will be awarded for best-dressed, including staff's choice and people's choice, and a costume parade is planned at both events. The Halloween Party runs on October 30 from 5.30pm to 8pm, followed by live music from local band Lock Stock & Blues until 11pm. The Melbourne Cup Luncheon is on November 3 from 11.30am, with tickets at $90 per person.

Making the mountain more accessible

Tamborine Mountain's Dapsang Drive amenities have been upgraded to include accessible facilities, funded by the Scenic Rim Council. The new complex, costing $515,000, features five unisex toilets, including one for disabled access, and a footwash tap for bushwalkers. Mayor Tom Sharp emphasised the importance of inclusive infrastructure for the growing community and increasing visitors. Councillor Amanda Hay praised the project, urging respect for shared community assets. The upgrade addresses the needs of up to 400 daily users during peak times, replacing a 10-year-old pump out facility.
