The NFL has announced Jay-Z as the halftime show performer for Super Bowl 61, to be played on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement was made on October 26. Jay-Z has released 13 solo studio albums and has been nominated for 89 Grammy Awards, winning 25. In 2019 the NFL partnered with him to help choose halftime acts, and he has now chosen himself for the 2027 event. The game will be the eighth Super Bowl held in Los Angeles.
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman may end their 25-year partnership as NFL broadcasters after Super Bowl 61. Both have contracts expiring after this season. ESPN has reportedly agreed a new deal with Buck but has not approached Aikman. Aikman has reportedly been angry over how the situation has unfolded. Front Office Sports reported that the two argued off-air during a Monday Night Football broadcast between the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills.
Multiple reports say rapper Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl 61 halftime show in February. Dave Brooks of Puck News first reported the news, which has not yet been confirmed. Jay-Z has helped the NFL choose halftime performers since 2019 but has never headlined the show himself. The NFL gave him final say over the selection in 2019, and he has picked every performer since. If confirmed, he would follow Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny and perform 14 years after his wife, Beyonce, headlined.

The Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams both have strengths and weaknesses that will decide whether they reach Super Bowl 61 in Los Angeles. The Bills rely on quarterback Josh Allen, who is playing at a high level, and running back James Cook, who leads the league in rushing. Their pass defence and turnover count are major concerns. The Rams have strong passing and pass defence, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, but they have committed more turnovers than they have forced. Injuries to key defenders are also a worry.
Speculation surrounds Miley Cyrus as a potential halftime performer for Super Bowl 61, with fans interpreting recent social media posts as hints. A viral claim suggested Apple Music may have accidentally revealed the performer, while Cyrus's cryptic 'bowl' post fueled rumours. Her connection to the late Dolly Parton, her godmother, adds emotional weight to the speculation. Cyrus previously performed at a Super Bowl-related event in 2021, demonstrating her familiarity with NFL productions. The NFL has not confirmed any details about the halftime show lineup.
