New path finally opens

Residents and visitors to Sunshine Beach can now access the Ross Crescent pathway following the completion of a delayed landslide stabilisation project. The $2.49 million project, funded by Noosa Council and the Australian Government, was finished four months behind schedule due to unstable ground and wet weather. The works addressed slope damage and protected infrastructure, including the footpath and stormwater systems. Noosa Council assured the project remained within budget despite the extended construction period. The pathway's reopening restores public access after months of disruption.

Grandfather sells $13.9m dream home for almost $4m less just months after winning it

An 80-year-old grandfather who won a $13.9 million Sunshine Beach mansion in a lottery has sold it for $10.15 million, about $4 million less than its prize valuation. The retired Sydney engineer won the Maslina property at 27 Adams Street through RSL Queensland's Dream Home Art Union earlier this year. The house sold to resort managers Geoffrey and Tamara Hussin, who run Ivory Palms Resort in Noosaville. He said he wanted the money to help his children and grandchildren and to give to others who deserve it.

Assault appeal, Noosa Heads

Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with an assault investigation in Noosa Heads. Initial enquiries indicate that at about 2.36am on 10 October, security at a licensed venue on Noosa Drive removed a man who then tried to re-enter. When security stopped him, he is alleged to have punched a male security guard in the face and pushed a female security guard down stairs before fleeing. A 27-year-old Pacific Paradise man suffered a minor facial injury, and a 60-year-old Kin Kin woman was uninjured.
