Little truck with plenty of taste and familiar faces takes Japanese favourites to Queanbeyan

A new Japanese food truck called Tomari Sachi has set up in Queanbeyan, parked at New Planet Supermarket in West Queanbeyan. The truck is run by Zilla Tam and Eddie Cho, who are best known for their McKellar restaurant Raijin. Raijin closed on short notice after its ageing building was deemed no longer up to code, and the owners plan renovations. The menu offers karaage chicken, takoyaki, ramen, Japanese curry and Japanese ice creams. The truck is open Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm, with Saturday lunch from 11 am and dinner from 5 pm.

'Violent' fire destroys Paris's oldest covered food market

A fire has destroyed the Marche Couvert des Enfants Rouges, Paris's oldest covered food market, in the Marais district. Emergency services brought the blaze under control after it was first reported around 3am on Monday. The metal structure partially collapsed, and officials said nothing remains of the market. Neighbouring buildings were not affected. The market, which dates from 1615 and was listed as a historical monument in 1982, may be given a new life elsewhere in Paris. Authorities say temporary locations will be found for its businesses, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
