Here's a list of every athlete with a prediction market deal in 2026, from LeBron James to Giannis

Many current and former athletes have signed deals with prediction markets, which let people trade on real-world events. LeBron James became the first active athlete to work with Polymarket, announcing his deal in September. Polymarket also has deals with several retired players, including Eli Manning and Derek Jeter. Kalshi has more athlete deals than its rival, with the largest individual deal belonging to Giannis Antetokounmpo. Lionel Messi announced his Kalshi deal in June, and Bryson DeChambeau became the first golfer to partner with a prediction market.

LeBron James Polymarket contract, explained: What to know about 76ers star's controversial deal with prediction market

LeBron James has announced an endorsement deal with Polymarket, a leading prediction market, while beginning his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers. The partnership has drawn scrutiny because many people link prediction markets to sports gambling. James will focus on football rather than basketball, according to Polymarket. He is reportedly receiving $15 million a year from the deal, far more than his two-season contract with the 76ers, which is worth $8 million in total. The NBA has no rule against such partnerships, unlike the NFL and PGA Tour.

Young man wagered $895,000 before his death, coroner finds

A Victorian coroner has found that online sports betting was the main and direct cause of the suicide of Kyle Hudson, a 22-year-old from Werribee. Hudson wagered $895,733 with various betting companies after opening a Sportsbet account on his 18th birthday, and died in 2021. Coroner Paul Lawrie said Hudson had no history of mental illness or drug and alcohol problems. He recommended the federal government consider banning gambling advertising and inducements for young customers, and creating a national gambling data vault. Sportsbet said it would consider the findings and remained committed to strengthening consumer protections.
