Seattle beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday Night Football, handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season. The Chiefs scored only three points, their lowest total in a game started by Patrick Mahomes. Seattle held running back Kenneth Walker to 36 rushing yards, his season low. Harrison Butker missed two field goals, and the Chiefs failed to reach the red zone. The Chiefs also recorded no explosive plays, a first for head coach Andy Reid.
Running back Kenneth Walker III is leading the NFL in rushing yards after signing a three-year, $43 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. Through five games, he has 665 rushing yards and a 6.3-yard average per carry. The Chiefs' rushing attack has moved from among the league's worst to second-best. Seattle has struggled on the ground since his departure, leaning heavily on quarterback Sam Darnold. The two teams meet in Week 7 on Sunday night.
Former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has harshly criticised Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix after a 17-14 overtime win over the Seahawks on Thursday night. Nix threw for just 107 yards, and Denver was shut out in the second half. Fitzpatrick said Nix was not competing and called his play disrespectful to the quarterback position. Analyst Tony Gonzalez suggested Nix could be benched if his form does not improve. Denver is now 4-2 on the season.

The Seattle Seahawks have dropped to 3-3 after a 17-14 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, with all three defeats coming in the last four games. The defence has largely held up, but the offence has struggled to match its 2025 form. Quarterback Sam Darnold has thrown several interceptions, including two against Denver, and has been under heavy pressure, with five sacks in that game. Injuries to running backs have weakened the run game, and a thin group of receivers beyond Jaxon Smith-Njigba has limited the attack.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald says Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton threatened to accuse Seattle of cheating before their 2024 Week 1 game. Macdonald said his staff had scouted Denver using social media clips of training camp plays. Macdonald said Payton called Seahawks general manager John Schneider and threatened to go public. Macdonald later apologised to Payton for the comments becoming public, and Payton said the two are on good terms. Payton said the episode led the Broncos to change their training camp policy.
Mike Evans did not know who Trevon Diggs was until he checked the name on Diggs' jersey during a heated exchange in Sunday's game. The 49ers beat the Seahawks 32-29 to stay unbeaten at 5-0. Evans finished with seven catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. Evans said after the game that he had pushed Diggs and asked who he was before checking. Diggs was signed to Seattle's active roster for the matchup after time on the practice squad.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected from the first half of his team's game against the Seattle Seahawks after headbutting Seattle linebacker Ernest Jones on the sideline. Greenlaw was first penalised in the second quarter for a late hit on Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. The ejection followed as the Seahawks bench moved toward Greenlaw to defend Darnold. The NFL reportedly reviewed the replay and told officials to remove Greenlaw under a new rule allowing ejections for non-football acts. The 49ers must now play the road game without one of their starting linebackers.
