Man United managers since Sir Alex Ferguson: Best record, stats with Michael Carrick on the brink

Michael Carrick appears close to being removed as Manchester United manager, nine months after taking over at Old Trafford from Ruben Amorim. Carrick initially joined on a short-term deal and later earned a permanent role after guiding United to third place and Champions League qualification. This season, however, form has collapsed, with a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth extending a winless run to eight matches and leaving United 16th in the Premier League. Carrick is the ninth manager to lead the club since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, and the piece reviews how each predecessor's record compares.

Essendon has decided not to renew AFLW coach Natalie Wood's contract after a one-win season. The club told her of the decision after Sunday's 3.7 (25) to 3.2 (20) loss to Hawthorn. Sarah Macdonald returns to ABC radio after being sacked in 2024

Sarah Macdonald will return to ABC Sydney radio in March, replacing the late James Valentine in the afternoons slot. The ABC's director of audio, Ben Latimer, announced her reinstatement on Wednesday, citing listener demand. Macdonald was sacked from the Mornings program in 2024, sparking an outcry from colleagues and listeners. Valentine, who hosted the Afternoons program for 25 years, died in April. Macdonald's return will add a woman to the ABC's all-male lineup between Breakfast and 6pm in 2026.
