Singer Kate Ceberano is touring a show that honours Australian Made, a 1986 open-air concert series that helped shape Australian music history. The tour draws on songs from the original line-up, including Jimmy Barnes and INXS, as well as other Australian acts such as Skyhooks, Icehouse and Paul Kelly. Ceberano said many of the songs carry personal stories from her career. The Australian Made encore tour plays Costa Hall on Saturday 31 October.
A folk song inspired by John Steinbeck's 1939 novel The Grapes of Wrath has been reshaped across several decades. Bruce Springsteen released his acoustic version in 1995. Rage Against the Machine then recorded a heavy rock take in 1997. In 2008, Springsteen and guitarist Tom Morello performed the song together in California. Their version later appeared on Springsteen's 2014 album High Hopes.
Powderfinger will perform 18 concerts across six Australian cities in 2027, marking their first shows since disbanding in 2010. The Brisbane rock band will play in Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne. Tickets go on sale this week, with the tour kicking off in September 2027. The band has partnered with Mission Australia to raise funds and awareness for the charity.
