Bergin hitting home runs
Eighteen-year-old baseballer Oliver Bergin has been named an October nominee for the Don Deeble Sports Star Award. He began playing T-ball at four and joined the Williamstown Baseball Club as an eight-year-old. Bergin's club team won a state championship, but a stress fracture to his back kept him out of the sport for more than six months at 14. He trains with a structured routine while studying at Maribyrnong Sports Academy. He has represented Victoria and Australia overseas and hopes to study engineering and win a college scholarship in the United States.
