The Melbourne Star has reopened after lying idle since September 2021, with a long queue of visitors seen waiting to ride it. The piece questions whether the wheel can help revive Docklands, which has faced the closure of Costco at Ardeer, the demolition of Central Pier and sinking footpaths.
The Martin Carlson Foundation has put forward a three-stage redevelopment plan for the Korumburra outdoor pool, backed by local students. The site's agent says the new owners plan to restore the original concept, which would need an estimated $20m-$30m in works.
