Philanthropic couple re-list $40m beachside unit with $5m discount

Former investment banker Peter Hunt and his wife Tania de Jong, a soprano and social entrepreneur, have relisted their five-bedroom Manly penthouse with a $35 million price guide, down $5 million from February. Hunt said the couple are selling because they now spend more time at their home near Byron Bay, adding that the apartment is special and unlikely to be matched. A sale at or above the guide would surpass the Manly suburb record of $34 million set in 2024. Hunt bought the beachfront unit for $12.2 million in 2010.

‘Realistic’: Sydney waterfront owner guides $5m less than what he paid

The owner of Akuna, a Point Piper waterfront home in Sydney, has listed it for $55 million. He bought the property for $60 million three years ago. The home has a rare Chinese-style boathouse, a deepwater jetty and a harbourside pool. Agent Steven Chen says the owner is realistic about the price. The house has five bedrooms, a 758 square metre block and approved plans for an extra level and a lift.

Landmark home has price cut by a third

The six-bedroom Heatherlie at 116 High Street, North Sydney, has had its auction price guide cut from $15 million to $10 million. The home failed to sell last year and is now listed with Sotheby's International. Agent Clint Ballard hopes to attract a family from the eastern suburbs. The 1899 house, renovated over three years, has harbour and Bridge views and is a short walk to Milsons Point Station. The auction is set for Tuesday, November 17.
