Why Cam Skattebo was penalized for trucking defender vs. Texans

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was penalised for unnecessary roughness during a first-quarter carry against the Houston Texans. Referees ruled that he lowered his helmet to make contact with defender M.J. Stewart while gaining eight yards. The decision drew mixed reactions from fans, with some saying it went against the physical style of football they grew up watching. The NFL has used penalties to discourage players from making dangerous contact, with these penalties usually aimed at defenders.

Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood have won the Bathurst 1000 after Anton De Pasquale ran out of fuel while leading on the final lap. De Pasquale, who was less than a lap from victory, said he knew his team was cooked once he saw how short they were on fuel. Team 18 had urged him to save fuel with the chequered flag nearing. Hollard insurance fined $2m for handling of claim that destroyed home

Insurer Hollard has been fined $2 million by the Federal Court for taking too long to process a home insurance claim. A house in regional Victoria became uninhabitable after a storm damaged its roof in October 2021. The corporate watchdog ASIC sued Hollard, alleging it breached its duty of utmost good faith. The court found delays in assessing damage, slow temporary accommodation and poor communication with the couple. Hollard has also been ordered to pay ASIC's legal costs, and the penalty goes to the Commonwealth of Australia.
