Sunshine avenue designs confirmed

Transport Victoria has confirmed the final design for intersection upgrades along Sunshine Avenue in Taylors Lakes. Construction is expected to begin in 2027. Two roundabouts at Melton Highway and Old Calder Highway will be replaced with signalised intersections, with additional lanes and new signalised pedestrian crossings. New walking and cycling paths and street lighting will also be built. A bus stop on the northern side of Melton Highway will move to the eastern side of Sunshine Avenue.

Truganina pedestrian planning underway

Planning is underway to make the Dohertys Road and Woods Road intersection in Truganina safer for people on foot. New pedestrian crossings will be added to the northern and western sides of the junction. Laverton MP Sarah Connolly said the crossings will help locals and students at the busy intersection. Disruption will be kept to a minimum, with busy periods avoided where possible. Detailed planning is expected to finish in mid-2027, after which construction timelines will be confirmed.
