Walmart has launched its own Agent Gateway to manage transactions made by AI agents, the retailer announced on Wednesday. The move comes shortly after rival Amazon began blocking AI agents from buying products for online shoppers. Walmart's chief executive, John Furner, said the company is preparing for a future in which AI agents become mainstream. Customers will be able to set up separate profiles for each agent, require approval for purchases or set spending limits. Agents that break Walmart's terms will be blocked from its site.
Click Frenzy's Main Event 2026 opens at 7pm AEDT on Tuesday, 27 October and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on Friday, 30 October. Shoppers who sign up for a reminder get access from 6pm on the Tuesday. It links shoppers to retailers, who handle purchases, delivery and returns. Some offers expire within 24 hours, so shoppers are advised to act quickly.

Google has made Universal Cart available to US users. The tool lets shoppers save products they find across search and the Gemini app, then return later to the same items without starting over. It can collect products from multiple retailers and send alerts when a saved item's price drops or when a sold-out product is back in stock. Google says the tool can also factor in credit card perks when helping users choose how to pay, and surface relevant promo codes.

Another user reportedly used the same details to change the delivery address and raise the order to 400 sets. Lego declined to comment. Visa has warned that AI shopping agents can be tricked into fraudulent purchases.
