The Sekuwa Shack is kicking goals at Harrison

A new Nepali food truck, The Sekuwa Shack, is parked at the Harrison District Playing Fields in Canberra. Owner Rajesh Chaudhary, who previously worked as a courier, opened it a few months ago. He says trade is busiest after sports games at the oval. The menu includes chicken sekuwa, a grilled meat skewer marinated in spices, and steamed vegetable momos served with a tomato and chilli dipping sauce. The truck is open from 2 pm to 7 pm, seven days a week.

Hollywood has found this Braidwood favourite and it’s time you did too

Smokey Horse, a Nepali restaurant and live music venue in Braidwood, has gained wider attention after actor Jack Quaid and his Australian wife, Claudia Doumit, visited on the eve of their wedding at Mona Farm. The venue, which opened in 2018 after years of serving Nepalese food locally, is known for its quirky decor and punchy flavours. Diners are advised to check opening hours and gig listings before visiting. Highlights include momos, pulled pork choila and curry thalis. The venue is open Thursday to Sunday from 3 pm until late.
