The Town of Mosman Park is considering a policy that would allow some minor developments to be built without development approval. The council will vote on the policy at its next meeting. Single houses and up to two grouped dwellings meeting residential design codes would be exempt, as would some temporary structures and secondary structures such as swimming pools. Town staff say the policy would increase the number of dwellings built each year, supporting the town's target of 1500 additional dwellings by 2050. Some respondents to community consultation were concerned about tree planting, amenity and biodiversity.
The Town of Mosman Park will close the foreshore path next to Colonial Gardens at Point Roe while fencing works take place. The closure covers the boardwalk and the path adjoining Downey Drive, between house numbers 1 and 25. The path is expected to be closed from Monday 19 October 2026 until about Friday 23 October 2026. These dates are indicative and may change due to weather, contractor availability and site requirements. The closure is needed to create a safe work area for the fencing.

The Town of Mosman Park will collaborate with the City of Fremantle to update their shared coastal management plan. The current plan, last reviewed in 2018, is outdated and does not reflect current state guidance, coastal monitoring data, or sea level rise predictions. The new plan will also include the Swan River foreshore, which was previously excluded. The City of Fremantle received $175,000 in funding and invited Mosman Park to join the project for $50,000, which is significantly cheaper than creating a separate plan.
