Sex claims, personal attacks and no admins? Canberra Facebook group descends into chaos

A Canberra Facebook group with more than 10,000 members has drawn criticism after a weekend of sexually suggestive posts and personal allegations naming individuals. Member Jonathan Mutton called for clearer rules and more consistent moderation, questioning whether administrators were reviewing content. Members said no administrators were listed for the group. The objectionable posts were not reported or removed for more than 48 hours. Another Canberra group recently said it would publish profiles of members who post abusive comments under nicknames. Lawyers have warned that defamation action over social media comments can be costly and slow.

French Government Calls Emergency Meetings With Platforms Over Protests

The French government has summoned six online platforms, including TikTok and eBay, as it seeks to contain widespread rioting and looting. Digital affairs minister Anne Le Hananff met social media firms on Tuesday and urged them to moderate content, including livestreams, to avoid violent material and posts encouraging people to break the curfew. Separately, platforms including Vinted, eBay, Amazon, LeBonCoin, Meta and TikTok agreed to forward reports to investigators and monitor ads for goods stolen during the protests, according to minister Serge Papin. Police have arrested more than 2,400 people, according to authorities.

OnlyFans Creators Are Pissed That Meta Lets Muse Talk Dirty

Adult content creators are angry that Meta lets its Muse AI agent hold sexually explicit conversations with adult users. Creators say their own accounts on Meta platforms are often restricted or flagged for removal. Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton said a private conversation between an adult and an AI agent on an adults-only app differs from promoting services on social media. Muse does not generate images or videos. Several creators want more transparency about how Muse was trained and whether data was compensated, and one says the app should not be downloaded.
