Strengthening precinct pride

Council has secured a Victorian Government grant to revitalise the Bayswater Retail Precinct through shopfront upgrades for local businesses. The project is due for completion by early 2027 and aims to boost street appeal and foot traffic. Participating traders include Lee Lee's Bakehouse, Fragrant Harbour Cafe and My Little Saigon, each planning improvements to their frontages. Owners say the works will make their businesses easier to notice and more inviting to customers.

The winners, Kate, Rhonda and Natalie, were drawn from 986 eligible entries across participating precincts. Kate plans to spend her vouchers at Noosa Brow Co, Office Choice and Nguyen Brothers. Rhonda will redeem hers at Cafe Vin Cino, Lucio's Marina and Nguyen Brothers, while Natalie will spend her full prize at Estrogen.

Seddon snapshots in shopfronts

Voting is open until 1 November for the people's choice award in the Snapshots of Seddon photography competition. All 37 entries are on display in several shopfronts across Seddon, including cafes, a physio clinic, a butcher and a design store. Many of these shopfronts also have voting boxes or ballots. Winners in the people's choice award and the other categories will be announced next month. Competition organiser Seddon Village Traders Association encourages people to walk around the village and view the photos before casting their vote.
