Logan’s 206-hectare opportunity amid industrial land squeeze

Logan has about 206 hectares of vacant industrial development land, the Property Council says, offering room for new investment as greater Brisbane faces a shortage of industrial space. Property Council Queensland executive director Jess Caire said infrastructure such as roads and water must keep pace with demand. The council is calling for a $500 million industrial infrastructure fund and a coordinated state strategy to unlock more employment land. Average sale prices for smaller industrial sites rose about 44 per cent over the year to June 2026.

$6 million move to Noosa

The Lad Collective, founded by Brisbane brothers Bill and Ed Ovenden, has reportedly bought a warehouse at 3 Production Street, Noosaville, for $6 million. The bedding and lifestyle brand is currently based in Melbourne and hopes to pack and send orders from Noosa before Christmas. Colliers senior executive Jesse Howitt said demand for industrial property in Noosa remains strong, with limited supply of industrial-zoned land. He said some local businesses are being pushed to nearby estates in Coolum, which he called a loss for the Noosa economy.

Employment Precinct rezoned for industry

A 294-hectare employment precinct south of Marong has been rezoned as industrial land, a step City of Greater Bendigo chief executive Andrew Cooney said came at a critical time. The site, the Bendigo Regional Employment Precinct, was first identified as an industrial investigation precinct in September 2020. Once complete, it is expected to create about 3000 direct and 3000 indirect jobs. Regional Development Victoria has invested $6 million in studies on the site's development. The next steps include finalising trunk infrastructure requirements and developing an investment plan to attract businesses.

How they're planning for a bigger, better Wonthaggi - have your say

Bass Coast Shire Council is asking residents to comment on its Draft Wonthaggi Structure Plan 2026 until October 30. The 15-year plan sets out how the town should grow while keeping its character. It proposes no new residential expansion for now, as existing land could meet demand for around 40 years. Instead, it prioritises the Wonthaggi North-East growth area and includes at least 20 hectares of industrial land at South Dudley. Community drop-in sessions are scheduled for October 14, 19 and 21.

Businesses invited to help shape new South Lismore industrial precinct

Lismore City Council has opened an expression of interest process for a proposed industrial precinct in South Lismore. The council-owned site is planned to hold about 21 lots to address a shortage of industrial land across the Northern Rivers. Council director Graham Snow said early feedback from businesses, investors and developers will help determine lot sizes, layout and whether lots will be sold or leased. The proposed precinct could suit manufacturing, light industry, food and beverage production, and businesses combining production with retail or tourism. Submissions can be made through Lismore's Your Say platform.
