A record of time and place
Local songwriter Mark Lang will launch his debut solo album, Wild Swan, at the Melbourne Recital Centre this weekend. The 10-track album took over three years to make and is dedicated to Lang's son. It draws on the sounds of the wetlands to capture a moment in time. Lang, formerly frontman of the indie rock band Skipping Girl Vinegar, will perform with long-time friend and producer Nick Huggins on Saturday night. Lang says the album reconnects him with the spirit of making music as two friends exploring ideas.
