Nearly 30-year-old Magnum ice cream found in shop freezer

A Harrow shop owner has found an almost 30-year-old Magnum Ego ice cream at the bottom of his freezer. Ash Standbridge, who owns the Kolmar House General Store in Victoria's south-west, posted the discovery online and it went viral. The ice cream was still solid and intact. Magnum Ice Cream said it is looking into the find and that Australians have shared many memories of the product. Mr Standbridge also found old chip packets and a sealed flavoured milk from the 1980s and 1990s, which he is keeping.

Golden North's ice cream factory starts production at new site

Golden North has started ice cream production at a new plant in Murray Bridge, South Australia. The company bought the former Beston Global Food Company site after it was liquidated in 2025. Managing director Dimi Kyriazis said the move brings the business closer to the state's central milk-producing region and allows it to expand. The company has left Laura, its home of 103 years, and is hiring about 100 staff at the new site. Cheese production is planned for later.

Ice cream parlour defends staff in sweary rant

Brothers Dave and Kevin Miller, owners of Coldstuff Ice Cream in Blackstone, Massachusetts, defended their teenage staff after a customer allegedly berated a 16-year-old employee over a minor pricing error. Their blunt Facebook post, which included strong language, quickly gained traction online, with many praising their stance. The owners expressed frustration at customers taking out their anger on young workers still learning the ropes. They noted the post's overwhelmingly positive response, even drawing more patrons to their shop. The Millers clarified their message was aimed at fostering patience towards inexperienced employees, not targeting older customers.
