Artist creates space for people to lay down their grief

Healesville artist Clare James will reopen The Place for Lost Feelings, a free installation where people can spend five minutes alone and light a candle. The floral space was first built in 2022 after she sensed many people were looking for a place to grieve outside organised religion. Visitors have included a man with terminal cancer who told her it was the first time he accepted his mortality. The event runs on October 24 and 25 at The Healesville Living And Learning Centre, with trauma response workers available as people leave.
