OpenAI working on new $30B raise at $1.25T valuation ahead of IPO

OpenAI is reportedly close to a new private funding round of up to $30 billion, at a pre-money valuation of $1.25 trillion. Coatue and investors from the UAE are said to be leading the round, according to CNBC sources. Terms are still being negotiated and could change. OpenAI declined to comment. A valuation above $1 trillion would make it the most valued private company ever. Anthropic is reportedly seeking a $1.5 to $2 trillion valuation for its public debut.

The maker of non-text AI model Jev valued at $7.5B just weeks after launch

TypeSafe AI has raised $870 million at a $7.5 billion valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Sequoia and existing investor DCVC. The startup behind Jev, a model released on September 15, says a third of Fortune 500 companies are already using it. Unlike large language models, Jev does not output text. It produces probabilities, which the company calls calibrated decisions. TypeSafe claims it runs faster and uses far fewer tokens than language models, and it is aimed at automating tasks.
