Council Begins $100,000 Road And Footpath Repair Blitz

Ararat Rural City Council has begun a four-week program of road and footpath repairs across the municipality, investing about $100,000. The works include patching, dig-out repairs and spray sealing on local roads, lanes and footpaths, at sites including Red Hill Road, Geelong Road and Frontage Road. Chief Executive Officer Phuong Au said the program reflects the council's ongoing maintenance commitment, with a further repair blitz planned around Easter next year. Residents can report road and footpath damage through the Snap Send Solve app, and reports will now receive updates better linked to the council's repair processes.

Upper Lachlan Shire Pedestrian Access and Mobility (PAMP) Survey

Upper Lachlan Shire Council is updating its Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan and Bike Plan to guide future walking and cycling improvements. The plans aim to identify missing footpath links, safety concerns, accessibility problems and poor connections to schools, shops, community facilities, recreation areas and town centres. Residents are invited to complete a survey describing how they walk and cycle, where they face difficulties, and which locations should be prioritised. Survey feedback will be considered alongside council inspections and existing infrastructure data. The survey closes on Wednesday, 2 December 2026.
