The Jerra transforms into family-friendly pub with a whole new menu

The Jerrabomberra Tavern, known locally as The Jerra, has been renovated and reopened as a family-friendly venue. Harvest Hospitality bought the pub, and new publican James Catlin says it is now a place for families, friends and locals. A playground has been added, and the kids' menu includes do-it-yourself pizza making. The bistro has been split into dining and sports bar areas, and the new menu offers pub classics. A 250 gram porterhouse steak with chips, salad and gravy costs $33. The venue is open Monday to Saturday and Sunday for varied hours.

Uralla’s Bolt Inn wins two statewide dining awards

Uralla's Bolt Inn has won two honours at the NSW Restaurant and Catering Awards. It took Best Restaurant in a Pub/Club in Regional NSW and Best Family Dining in a Pub in Regional NSW. Owners Pete and Sally Strelitz credit their staff, including Head Chef Rob Taylor, who has many years of experience. The kitchen makes many dishes from scratch, and children's meals are mini versions of adult dishes. The pub is also preparing for the Melbourne Cup and the Uralla Thunderbolt Festival.
