Elon Musk promised an AI-generated version of The Odyssey that would be historically accurate. Months later, xAI's Grok Imagine released a seven-minute episode, produced by Wonder Studios X, that drew sharp criticism for its poor animation and pacing. Asked to evaluate it, Grok said the episode was not historically accurate, noting modern English dialogue and cavalry in a battle scene. The episode received far less engagement on X than Musk's other recent posts.
Elon Musk has become the biggest known donor for this US midterm cycle, giving about $US442 million to Republican groups while staying off the campaign trail. Forecasters say Democrats are likely to win the House of Representatives, and control of the Senate is a toss-up. If Democrats gain power in Congress, they have said they will pursue investigations into Mr Musk's dealings, including the restriction of Starlink and Starshield services to Ukraine. Mr Musk could be called to testify or produce documents, and Congress could limit government contracts with his companies.
Elon Musk has announced he will give every child in the United States one share in SpaceX in 2027. The billionaire said on X that this would be the first of many such initiatives, but gave no details on how the plan would work. Distributing one share to each of the roughly 70 million under-18s would cost more than $US10 billion at the current share price. The announcement follows rival AI company Anthropic's move to place 5 per cent of its shares into a public benefit fund.

Director Alex Gibney says Elon Musk never agreed to an interview for his documentary, Musk. Instead, the team used Musk's public comments to build a simulated version of him that appears throughout the film. Musk's father, Errol Musk, was the only person who agreed to take part immediately. Gibney says others, including Musk's first wife, Justine Musk, needed months of persuasion. The film runs nearly four hours, including a 10-minute intermission, and is set for release in cinemas on a Friday.
