Perth Airport's chief executive, Jason Waters, has warned travellers to prepare for major disruption over the next few years. The airport plans to consolidate its terminals and move Qantas into a central hub. A new domestic and international terminal is planned at Airport Central, with preliminary work expected within 12 months. Waters said he could not yet confirm the total cost or completion date, though he expected the project to stay on target. The new terminal is hoped to open by 2031.
Victoria's victims of crime commissioner, Elizabeth Langdon, has warned that slow processing of financial support is hurting victims' recovery. Some victims report waiting more than a year for help while paying for counselling and medical bills themselves. Under the Financial Assistance Scheme, primary victims can receive up to $63,401 for counselling, lost income, medical and other costs. A legal service says it has stopped taking new clients because of a backlog. The state government says it is looking at ways to improve the scheme, and 77 per cent of applications lodged in 2024-25 were finalised.
Home construction delays have left owners facing financial strain and extended timelines. While structural work is complete, holiday breaks and tradie shortages have pushed the handover date to April 2027. The original October completion target now seems unlikely, with plastering and plumbing still pending. Rising interest rates compound the pressure, as monthly loan repayments consume $2400. The owners are now hoping for a quick sale of their current property to alleviate financial burdens.

The final stage of Peninsula Link roadworks is now expected to finish in March 2027, the Minister for Roads and Road Safety has confirmed. Paul Hamer said closures will be scheduled to limit impact on road users and will not occur during the peak school holiday period. Nepean MP Anthony Marsh said residents had been told the works would finish by 18 December. The state-funded project began in July 2025 and has caused months of disruption for motorists.

Residents have expressed mixed feelings, with some criticising the lack of access and communication, while others support the project's long-term benefits. The Shire of Broome has acknowledged the community's interest and is working to provide accurate updates.
