Mayor told staff member to 'lose some weight', misconduct probe finds

An independent investigation has found that Lisa Ruffell, mayor of the District Council of Robe in South Australia, made critical remarks about council staff. Among them, she allegedly told a staff member to lose weight and go back to netball. The investigation also found she was dismissive in meetings and sent rude emails to employees. Ms Ruffell strongly disputes the findings and has raised concerns about the process. Councillors will vote on whether to censure her at a special meeting on Monday night, where she will not take part in discussion.
