A folk song inspired by John Steinbeck's 1939 novel The Grapes of Wrath has been reshaped across several decades. Bruce Springsteen released his acoustic version in 1995. Rage Against the Machine then recorded a heavy rock take in 1997. In 2008, Springsteen and guitarist Tom Morello performed the song together in California. Their version later appeared on Springsteen's 2014 album High Hopes.
Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan have released a remix of Rodrigo's hit song expectations. The remix is Roan's first-ever feature and was produced by their collaborator, Daniel Nigro. The pair also released a camp music video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, in which Rodrigo and Roan play rival characters on a retro game show. The remix is available in physical formats, including limited edition vinyl, CDs and cassettes. Rodrigo's original song appeared on her third album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and topped charts in 17 countries, including Australia.
