Multiple flood warnings as Queensland braces for more wild weather

Several flood warnings have been issued across Queensland as heavy rain continues. The Mary River at Tiaro is rising rapidly and could reach major flood level. The Gympie Regional Council said the Kidd Bridge into Gympie was likely to close at 5:30pm. The Bureau of Meteorology says the worst of the severe storms could hit south-east Queensland on Monday, bringing large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain. Near Clermont, an Emergency Warning for flash flooding has been lifted, though moderate flood warnings remain for the Warrego and Weir rivers.

A Minlacowie bull has topped the CQ Invitational Droughtmaster sale for a second consecutive year. The 22-month-old Minlacowie Camelot sold for $45,000 to Josh Perry of Strathfield Droughtmasters, Clermont. Of 45 bulls offered by seven studs, 40 sold for a gross of $472,000 and an average of $11,800. Mr Perry said he judged the bull on looks first and used data only as a check. Nicole Mills said Camelot was a standout young sire with strong potential.

Clermont water supply update

Isaac Regional Council is asking Clermont residents to keep saving water after higher than normal levels of manganese were found in the town's raw water supply. The water treatment plant will not operate overnight while crews work on the issue. Storage levels are stable and not critical. The council says the town water supply remains safe to drink and meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. Residents with discoloured water are asked to run taps until it clears.
