Seeker Markets is bringing its fashion market from Canowindra to Orange for the first time, after a community vote chose the city as its next host. The market will run from 9am to 1pm on Sunday 15 November at Banksia in Orange. Founded by sisters Courtney Clancy and Morgan Grant, the market sells vintage, pre-loved and accessible designer pieces. Attendance in Canowindra grew from 400 to nearly 600 guests, prompting a larger venue for the Orange event. The organisers say Canowindra will remain the market's home base.
An online map shows 21 registered defibrillators across Cabonne towns, including Eugowra, Cudal, Manildra, Yeoval, Cumnock, Canowindra and Molong. NSW Ambulance chief executive Clare Beech said each minute without CPR cuts a cardiac arrest patient's survival chance by seven to 10 per cent. A new GoodSAM CPR playlist on Spotify matches songs to the recommended compression rate of 100 to 120 per minute. People aged 18 and over can register as GoodSAM responders without formal CPR qualifications. Device access varies, and map listings may be incomplete or outdated.
Retired photographer Richard Swansborough has been named a finalist in the Mono Awards for his photograph Reptilian Encounter. The image was taken on his Canowindra property and shows a Cunningham skink appearing to defend its young from an Eastern Brown snake. Swansborough believes it may be the first documented case of this behaviour. He said he keeps about 25 to 30 of the skinks on his land and has seen them confront brown snakes before. The 83-year-old, who has worked in photography for six decades, said capturing the moment was pure chance.
