Queensland minister Amanda Camm has stepped down as minister for domestic and family violence and child safety. She cited health concerns and threats against her, and said the decision was hers alone. Premier David Crisafulli stood beside her and said an announcement on her replacement would come soon. Camm will remain the MP for Whitsunday but would not commit to contesting the seat at the next election. The opposition has repeatedly called for her to be sacked, and says the government has failed on child safety.
Queensland minister Amanda Camm has resigned from cabinet, saying her recovery from health problems is ongoing. She said she had faced harassment, threats, bullying and personal vilification over the past year. Camm had been under pressure over child safety and domestic and family violence prevention, including budget cuts and reform delays. Premier David Crisafulli said she had not been removed over her performance. A replacement is expected to be announced later on Friday.
Bruce Lehrmann wants the Federal Court to order the return of a diary seized during a raid on his Hobart home by the National Anti-Corruption Commission. His lawyer told the court the diary holds his personal thoughts, not Cabinet information. The Commonwealth argues parts of it contain sensitive Cabinet material that should not be returned. The corruption watchdog has dropped its investigation into allegations he took documents from former defence minister Linda Reynolds' office. Justice Brigitte Markovic reserved her decision and the matter returns to court on December 2.

Japanese farm minister Kazuo Yana has resigned, becoming the first minister in Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's government to step down. He faced criticism over remarks suggesting road funding cuts for municipalities that did not back him. Yana confirmed an audio clip in which he linked budget cuts in two municipalities to their support for a rival candidate, though he later denied having power over such decisions. Takaichi said she took responsibility for the appointment, and a replacement will be announced on Thursday.
