Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Make Your Phone Hot. Here’s How to Keep It Cool

Connecting a phone to Android Auto or CarPlay places heavy demands on it, which can drain the battery and cause overheating. Using a wired connection can reduce strain, though charge limits help with the added heat from charging. Placing the phone in front of an air vent can cool it, and removing a case during the trip may help. Downloading maps, music and podcasts in advance means the phone needs less data while driving. Users are advised to check the phone's temperature regularly while connected.

Gemini's Personal Intelligence is coming to cars

Google is rolling out its Personal Intelligence feature for Gemini to cars. The feature starts in Android Auto today and will reach vehicles with Google built-in within the next few months. It lets Gemini draw on data such as calendar entries and photos, so drivers can give simpler requests. For example, a driver can ask to be taken to a doctor's appointment, and Gemini can find that appointment in the user's calendar. The feature is optional.
