'Incredible human' goes from critical to comic relief
Queensland father Jon Twartz has survived sepsis about 25 times and been admitted to hospital 427 times since first contracting it almost 15 years ago. He estimates taxpayers have spent $2 million keeping him alive. Now 53, he has become a community ambassador for the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, where he shares his story and spreads positivity. He hopes his experience will encourage others who are still unwell. He says he may have turned a corner in his recovery.
