Ballan hydrotherapy pool to close

Key points

• Mecwacare will permanently close its hydrotherapy pool in Ballan on Thursday 24 December. Assessments found significant structural issues that would prevent long-term use.
• Repairing or replacing the pool was considered, but the work needed to meet safety and structural standards led to the decision. The swim centre remains open until closure, and the area will be redeveloped into an expanded public gym.
• Updates will be sent to pool and gym members and shared online.
