Somerset Regional Council Highlights – 9 October 2026

Key points

• Somerset Regional Council will test its flood early warning sirens on 29 October. The tests will occur at stations in Fernvale and Lowood, with CleanCo also testing sirens near Wivenhoe Somerset Road.
• Mayor Jason Wendt assured residents there is no cause for alarm during these tests. The council hosted a seniors expo and plans a seniors month lunch, recreational facility maintenance, and a charitable grants program.
• A food trail event and a Halloween event are also scheduled.
