State Gov funding boost for sporting facilities in Inglewood and Texas

Key points

• The Queensland Government will provide $170,858 for pool heating at the Inglewood Swimming Pool and $427,235 for a full lighting upgrade at the Texas Sports Complex. The funding comes through the Games On!
• Grassroots Infrastructure Program. Councillor Kym Skinner said the Inglewood project was driven by the local swimming club and would make the pool more comfortable from September to March.
• At Texas, the existing bulbs are no longer manufactured, so the full system must be replaced. Mayor Lawrence Springborg welcomed the funding.
