Celebrating carers

Key points

• National Carers Week, running from 11 to 19 October, recognises the contribution of unpaid carers, of whom there are more than 2.7 million in Australia. The week encourages people to recognise, support and care for carers in their communities.
• Northern Beaches Council is hosting a range of events, including a mental health information session at Northern Beaches Hospital on 13 October, with an online option available.
• A Carer Gateway information stand will operate at Manly Library on 14 October and Westfield Warringah Mall on 15 October.
